Fees & Payment

How much does an online counselling session cost?

Session fees are £70 per 50-minute session. Payment is required monthly in advance unless we have agreed on another arrangement.

Appointments can be cancelled or rescheduled with at least 48 hours’ notice at no charge. Cancellations made with less notice may be charged the full session fee.

Your appointment time is reserved exclusively for you. If you arrive late, we will use the remaining session time, and the session will still end at the scheduled time.

If you are more than 15 minutes late without prior notice, the appointment will be considered a missed session and treated as a cancellation. The full session fee may still apply in accordance with the cancellation policy.

If you know you’re running late, please let me know as soon as possible. I’ll do my best to accommodate you where I can.

Getting Started

How do I book my first appointment?

You can contact me via the enquiry form or email to arrange a 25 minutes initial consultation. We’ll discuss what brings you to counselling, answer any questions you may have, and decide whether we’re a good fit to work together.

The first session is an opportunity to explore your reasons for seeking counselling, your goals, and any relevant background. We’ll also discuss confidentiality, how we might work together, and whether ongoing counselling feels right for you.

There isn’t a fixed number. Some people attend for a few sessions to work through a specific issue, while others choose longer-term counselling for deeper personal exploration. We’ll regularly review your progress together.

About Online Counselling

How does online counselling work?

Sessions take place via a secure video platform. Before your first appointment, you’ll receive a link to join the session. All you need is a stable internet connection, a device with a camera and microphone, and a private, comfortable space where you won’t be interrupted.

Research suggests that online counselling can be just as effective as in-person therapy for many concerns, including anxiety, depression, stress, relationship difficulties, and life transitions. The most important factor is having a safe therapeutic relationship where you feel heard and understood.

If the connection is interrupted, we’ll attempt to reconnect immediately. If the issue can’t be resolved, we’ll discuss an alternative such as continuing by telephone or rearranging the remaining session time.

About Counselling

What issues can counselling help with?

People seek counselling for many different reasons, including anxiety, depression, stress, burnout, grief, trauma, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, life transitions, work-related challenges, and personal growth. You don’t need to be in crisis to benefit from counselling.

Counselling may be helpful if you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, emotionally distressed, or simply wanting a space to better understand yourself. If you’re unsure, we can discuss your needs during an initial consultation.

Yes. Confidentiality is a fundamental part of counselling. There are, however, a small number of legal and ethical exceptions where confidentiality may need to be broken—for example, if there is a serious risk of harm to yourself or others. These limits will be explained before we begin working together.
